For millions of years, humans have been seeking out tribes. Some out of mere necessity and survival, others were just plain followers.
Would you want to be the warrior, the medicine woman, the chief or the dead animal skinner ? A place for everyone in the tribe. It is our nature to connect with people who are like us….
Stupid people tend to hang with stupid people…as in that TV show where young adult men engage in absolutely stuupid pranks, like riding in grocery carts and crashing into cement walls is fun…. I don’t even remember what it was called. I was just thankful that my kids didn’t do anything more crazy irresponsible than set the field on fire or “buzz” on skateboards behind the car or put cardboard black cats in the street for people to run over…!
What is bothering me is the incredible ignorance of our elected officials regarding the “will of the people”. I don’t want to be one o fthe lemmings ! In fact, I wouldn’t mind seeing our elected officials follow each other over the cliff… misery does love company and they can all crash to the surf togther ! I am in the tribe of ” get over it and get on with it” I will follow the person who says , ” change leaders not lightbulbs” and is willing to stand behind someon who can practice what they preach….
I was so happy to see Dennis Kucinich a Democrat on TV saying the bail out was crap and he would not vote for it… cool a dem actually standing up for something to protect me, the working shlup. My rep in Congress, Chris Cannon continued to show why he was not re-nominated. The man has no spine and cares only for his own special interests…and get this the Cannon family doesn’t have a very good track record in business or personal financial matters , so its no surprise he doesnt care about my financial burdens. Just look to the history of Geneva Steel, the current state of the Deseret News… to see that this Cannon is also a mis fire.
